Wednesday 7th
We packed up and headed a little north to Josephine Falls as this was highly recommended as a great place to go that you can swim!
It was very beautiful and we loved walking through the rain forest and then, even though it was cold, swimming at the bottom pool.
We all braved the water to get across to the other side to the rock as that looked like a great place to slide down into the water. In trying to ascertain as to whether it was safe we slowly walked towards the waters edge. Ethan was ahead of me and I had repeatedly told people to go slow and not slip.
The sign had said to watch out for slipping on the rocks. I actually hadn't seen a slipping sign before so that had to mean it was serious! So everyone knew to be careful. So Ethan was close to the water and on his bottom so as to not slip and I was talking saying that it looks okay but go slow when mid sentence my legs flew out from under me with no warning and my very well padded backside, I hit the not so padded rock and I continued to slide on into the cold water with Ethan close behind. So much for setting an example! And the padding does not stop the pain! After a laugh from all who were watching we decided it was okay to continue with rock sliding not slipping!
We were working out how to get across and it was hard to get in the cold water!
That is the rock with the water falling down it that we ended up sliding down, me by mistake!
We drove down the coast road, sugar cane on both sides, and after finding a few free spots were full we eventually found Bluewater camp. A very kind man said we could put our van in front of his for the night. Before the kids went to bed we saw possums walking around, bats flying around and a Curlew bird walking around. This birds call is very loud.
