Townsville

Thursday 8th
Another kind person told us they were leaving today so we could have their spot. That was great as there are a heap of people here and all we had to do was move over a bit and back. In the morning the kids did some school work and after lunch we headed into Townsville to the visitor information centre.

A photo with the big Brolga. We are getting quite a collection of pictures with animals. We will have to start with the big fruits soon! We got some maps and information on some good places to swim. Again some of the best information has been from the people around us in the camp site.
Last night we discovered some green tree frogs living behind the toilets so this night I decided to get this big one down and hold him/her.

It quite happily sat on my hand.

It wasn't quite so happy on Kimberly's hand. It kept crawling back onto mine but we finally got it to stay with her.

This night we also saw 3 possums climbing down from the tree. They are not very scared of you so you have to watch out you don't walk into them as you walk around at night.
