Port Hedland

Friday 31st
We headed into Dampier as the kids wanted to see the red dog statue. As we headed in we were amazed at the construction and road works. A lot of change is happening. Again those big trucks on the road.
Here is the famous red dog at Dampier.
We headed to Port Hedland. Again so much construction, road works, trucks, those huge trucks, trains, big boats at port. South Hedland is about 10km away from Port Hedland and is the main place for shops we found out. We booked into Black Rock caravan park at South Hedland and they don't charge for any children under 18!! We were in. Another cheep caravan park for us. God is looking after us! We checked the weather as we knew it was meant to be raining but didn't get much. It said it was still coming. A big sign at the entrance of the caravan park said that the cyclone report was all clear, no cyclones coming. I was happy to see that!
As it was Friday and we were nearly empty we hit the shops. Couldn't resist buying a whole watermelon, 75c per kg!!!! It came in wet.
