Wet weather

Monday 3rd
This day started at 4am with the kids waking each other up in the tent as Ethan was sleeping in a pool of water. It started raining constantly Sunday arvo and during the night we had had 22mm and it was coming in the tent, probably due to the fact that we couldn't properly fit the tent on our site and the water was pooling on the outside, then finding it's way in. So the 4 of them trudged into the caravan and thankfully I had a heap of rugs in the cupboard waiting for such a time as this. They quickly went back to sleep as the rain kept coming down. I went and paid for another 2 nights so we could sit the weather out and then got the kids doing some school work.
The annex was great in having that extra room, until it started to have droplets on the roof, landing on the tables and our heads!
So after lunch it was time for a quick movie in our lounge room while the rain kept coming down!
This was our set up. The water didn't pool very much as it is quite sandy and anytime the rain let up a bit it would sink in which was great so the floor in the annex has stayed dry under our mat. The entrance to our caravan was in between the annex and tent. It required Tim and I to walk through sideways. We couldn't pull the tent out properly as the back of it was on the curb. I have now pulled the tent down as it was just filling up with water and we are meant to keep getting rain tomorrow. Today we got another 35mm but it has let up now, just sprinkling. We drove to see Pretty Pool but didn't get a good look at it as it was pouring with rain. We drove through deep puddles and the kids loved that. We thought it best to stay in the car as there was a "recent crocodile sighting" sign. It didn't tell us when or where but we have been told that we won't be swimming in the sea anymore. Stingers and crocodiles!
Well the rain is better than winds as I don't think our setup would stand up to winds. We have missed the cyclone season by 1 month thankfully!
