Monday 6th
As we were packing up to leave Brunswick Junction Manning fed the local ducks until there were stuffed with bread!
As we got going we realised we were leaving behind the big trees, which is a little sad as we loved being amongst such huge forests that echoed every sound you made. We weren't leaving the Black Angus cows behind though. From what we have seen, 96% beef cows would have to be Black Angus. Amazing and we don't yet know why they are so so much more popular than other breeds here. Also we hit horse land Bunbury and up. Hadn't seen much before that.
We got onto the freeway at Pinjarra as that seemed to be the best way to get through Perth and out the other side. We had to just make sure we were in the right lane and not exiting into the city centre , Tim's nightmare! We had a lot of back seat drivers as they all knew we needed to keep going straight and when it looked like we were in the exiting lane there was a lot of "you need to change lane Dad , get over Dad". It was good as we got a bit of a look at the city without having to go in there.
This is Swan River as we get close to the city centre.
This is Ethan poised ready to take a photo of the city, and me trying to read the signs from the back seat and help Tim. We were doing school work and my place is in the back seat for this.
Baylee navigating in MY seat. I think he is about to take a bite of an apple. Every good navigator has to have atleast 2 apples a day!
The city across Swan River
Perth up close as we drive past.
The freeway comes to an end at Burns Beach and we headed off to Muchea where we found an excellent playground and lawn to have lunch. Tim had some flat ground which he checked the caravan breaks and found that we had only one working but didn't take much to get the other one going thankfully. Then we headed up to Gingin and across to the coast stopping in a camping spot on the Moore River.
How was I going to keep them out of this water?
This was to try and show how the back bed with Ethan, Zane and Kimberly on is out over the top of where the river banks slope down.
This is the view from their window down into the river. Nice!
