Josiah's birthday

Monday 8th
A big day was planned for Josiah's birthday. It started with the opening of presents. That caused a lot of excitement in the family. Then we got all packed and headed to the Palmerston water park for the speed slide competition that we have all been waiting to take Tim too. There were big plans to whip him in the races! Tim was ready as his competitive side doesn't take much to come out. But the kids were sure they could out do him this time.  We had to wait till 11am till the big slide opened but it was then on! Manning still hadn't grown the 1cm he needed to go on this slide so we stayed at the little kids slide but we watched as the competition began! The first lot of slides the kids were whiping Tim so he gave me a turn while he watched Manning.
There is Josiah waving for his birthday and Manning and Zane sitting on water fountains! In the background is the little kids orange water slide.
Baylee is coming through first and you can see the placings up on the board above. 1,2,3.
This may be Zane coming in first. He would just potter around and get in a race with little kids so he could have a fair race.
There's Kimberly winning a race.
Baylee nearly got to the end of his lane and Ethan is up walking. I had an advantage that I saw a guy last time who went down hooking but he got airborne and flew down the bumps so as soon as I did that, pull your mat up, fly through the air, push the front down, hit the slide hard so everyone under climbing up the stairs thought it was going to fall on their heads, then you win by a lot! So I told Tim the secret and then there was no stopping him and no catching him. Again the kids were good enough to look after Manning for a while so Tim and I could get a few races! I think out of the 6 we had I won 2! BUT it was close, and at the start line there was no talking, just deep breathing and heads down, focused. There was a lot at stake on this, maybe a marriage! We are still able to shake hands.
As you hit the water at the finish line it was quite hard. You would bounce along the top of the water for quite a while. I don't know who is behind this wall of water.
Murray Miller and his family were coming to Palmerston to do a shop up so Murray stayed with us for a while then later in the afternoon Baylee left with Murray to go stay at his place at Dundee beach. By that time it was time we went back to the caravan for tea and Josiah's cake (of course an ice cream cake!)
This is everyone decorating the cake. This will be quite an unusual birthday for Josiah as his birthday in July will very rarely be at a water park as we are normally where it is cold.
This is lighting the candles.
Singing happy birthday.
We all went to bed stuffed in many ways! Food and exercise!
