Lake Argyle

Friday 21st
We filled up with fuel as we headed through Kununurra and headed to Lake Argyle. We didn't get to drive around much when we got there as they don't want you taking caravans on the roads there as they are narrow and they have a lot of tour buses travelling on them.
This is a man made lake. Amazing to think there use to be no water there, just station country.
This swimming pool overflowed over the edge so you could float around looking straight out to Lake Argyle and the hills.
So we then headed to the Durack family homestead museum. They moved this house so it wouldn't of been ruined when the lake was made. They had to number every stone to put it back together when they relocated it here. Nice looking home.
We then headed to the NT! I didn't check weather we had to get rid of our fruit and veg at the boarder so everyone was doing a great job at stuffing themselves with cucumbers, carrots, lettuce & apples. It didn't take us long to get to the boarder and find out that we didn't need to empty our fruit and veg out!!! Oh well, the kids will be very healthy.
So after 2 1/2 months we are leaving WA and staring our adventure in NT.
Then Tim saw this sign and he wanted his commodore! We know that it use to be unrestricted speed but Tim just liked the thought of doing 130km legally. But we were in our patrol with the caravan on behind.
The country coming into Victoria River was very pretty, hilly and trees next to the river but a lot of the camp sights were full so we kept driving, but as it got dark we really wanted to pull over as there were a lot of cattle on the roads and we didn't want to hit them, so we pulled off into a paddock next to some cattle and had the peace and quiet of the area to ourselves. We were about 100km out of Katherine.
