Monday 1st
We had an easier day. Did some school work in the morning then at lunch time we had friends drop in that were heading to Dundee beach. The kids were very excited to see their friend again and we look forward to catching up with them more while we are here.
In the afternoon we headed to Howard Springs.
The kids really enjoyed the flying fox there.
We went for a walk through the trees which was very pretty. The kids found this huge grasshopper. It was about 20cm long. I tried to put my hand next to it to get an idea of the size but it kept moving away from me. It was big.
At the end of the walk there was a big pool with heaps of turtles in it. You can only just see it's shape in the water but they kept coming up to eat bread that people were throwing in.
Then along came Barramundi that were 1m long. They weren't eating the bread but they were so big that they must be eating something!
The kids then played in the playground and waterfall before we headed back to the caravan.
Then at night the fireworks began. We couldn't actually see the fireworks but the sky would light up. The banging was all around us and it kept going long after I went to bed.
