Friday 5th
It was time to show Tim these amazing free water parks! We went to the Leanyer Water Park and Tim was amazed that there wasn't very many people there. As the day went on the numbers increased but still not very many. We talked to a lady who was travelling with one kid and she was from Queensland and was amazed that the park was not full. She said the Worlds in Queensland are full and you can't take an esky with lunch in, which is how we keep the price of places down!
Manning had to grow 3cm since last week to go on the big slides but on measuring him he hadn't grown that much, but he was good about it and at least having Tim there we could devote more time to each group of kids. Zane happily slid all day with Tim and all the kids took turns going down the red slide with Tim. Kimberly and Baylee watched Manning while Tim and I went down the red slide together. Tim tried to rock the rubber ring up the walls, of course, but I think I was too heavy for him to move it. We came out of the tunnel with a huge splash with water going everywhere. We made the kids laugh.
When it got to about 4:30pm we packed up and headed into Darwin city to Stokes Hill Wharf. We were told that this was very interesting as you can drive on the jetty, have fish and chips for tea and watch the sun set! Well it was great. The jetty was full of cars but someone pulled out so we could get a park but as you parked you couldn't see the edge of the jetty so it was a little hard for me to take my foot off the brake! Tim told me it was okay! So we walked down to the end of the jetty to a huge shed that had the food shops in it and we ordered some fantastic fish and chips!
From the drivers seat you couldn't see the edge!
This is us with our tea and see, Farmers Union Ice Coffee!
There were these Batfish in the water that come up to eat chips if you throw them in the water. They are big and flat and they had to grab the chips on their side. They were fun to watch.
We then went to the other side of the jetty and saw the lights of Darwin.
Then we had ice cream to finish off a fun day out.
We drove home with our windows open taking in the cool night air(not that cool!)
